Short stories have quite a bad press, people either love them or hate them. I remember a book group discussion about short stories during which many people couldn’t even think of many. Yet some of the best stories are in this catergory and in the winter perfect to curl up on the sofa with or why not neglect the tv and read out aloud
In honour of National Short Story Week, here are a few of my favourites, both modern and old classics.
AS Byatt- Stories of Fire and Ice
Jackie Kay- Wish I were Here
Roald Dahl -Tales of the Unexpected
Arthur Conan Doyle- Sherlock Holmes
